Natural vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin with antioxidant and immunomodulatory effects. It is mainly found in vegetable oils, nuts, seeds, grains, vegetables and fruits. However, excessive intake of natural vitamin E may also have adverse effects, especially contraindicated for some people. So, how should we take natural vitamin E? What are the contraindications to the intake of natural vitamin E?

Intake suggestion: According to different age groups and genders, for adults, the recommended daily intake of natural vitamin E is 30 mg. The recommended intake for pregnant and breastfeeding women is slightly higher.

Excessive intake: Long-term high doses of natural vitamin E may have negative effects, including blood clotting problems, cardiovascular disease, immune system problems, thyroid problems, and epilepsy, among others. In most cases, too much vitamin E comes from high doses of nutritional supplements or excessive consumption of vitamin E-rich foods.

Contraindications: Natural vitamin E is contraindicated in certain groups, including:

  • Blood clotting problems: Vitamin E has anticoagulant properties, so if a person is taking anticoagulant medication or has a bleeding disorder, vitamin E should not be taken in excess.

  • Cardiovascular disease: Excessive intake of vitamin E may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, including stroke, myocardial infarction and high blood pressure.
